To provide the opportunity for visitors to the temple to fully experience the spirit of the temple, volunteers fill various roles to facilitate the flow of visitors and provide an environment conducive to the spirit both in and throughout the temple grounds.

 

The first interaction visitors will have will be parking. During peek times this can be frustrating. Parking attendants ease that by directing them to open spots and explaining where to go to start their tour.

Sister Missionaries will guide the visitors to the gathering place, direct them toward the shoe covering stations and greet the visitors as they exit the temple with the primary purpose of ensuring an uplifting experience.

 

Ushers generally monitor the flow of visitors.

Shoe covering attendants assist the visitors with both putting on the white shoe coverings at the start of the tour and taking them off at the end. This helps preserve the cleanliness of the temple.

​

Tour guides take groups through the temple on a predetermined route. They keep the group together. They do not narrate the tour.

​

The temple docents are stationed at various locations in the temple and are provided talking points.

​

Temple and grounds maintenance ensures the temple and surrounding property is clean at the start of every day and maintained clean during the day. They also assist with physical set and take down activities.

​

Safety and security addresses health related issues that arise and addresses any disruptive behavior.

Whew! That is a lot of volunteers at any one time let alone over multiple shifts of the 14 days of the public open house. YES! You are needed and very much appreciated!
